Today at my mission one of my friends, Zidaan, was having a hard time and having a meltdown and I patted and squeezed his hand and helped him calm down. Zidaan is in a wheelchair and I push him around.

Sis. Wold’s Mission Update
Dear everyone,
Here’s an update on my mission. I am serving at Lauren’s Institute in Gilbert and right now I am helping in Miss Julie’s classroom. I am helping all the kids in her class. I help the kids do projects. I help the teacher get ready for lunch.
I like my service mission because I like helping the kids.
Love,
Sis. Allie Wold

First Day as a Missionary!
Monday, September 24, 2018
Woo hoo!! The day has finally arrived!! Sis. Allison Wold is now an official missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! She is on assignment at Lauren's Institute for Education (LIFE) in Gilbert, Arizona. Allison went to therapy at LIFE a few years ago, and already knows some of the therapists there.
Today Allison arrived at LIFE at 7:30a.m. for the missionary devotional that is held before they start their daily service at 8a.m. She was met by Elder Shumway, who is the district leader, and who makes sure all the missionaries get to where their assignments are each day. She also met an Elder Tessainer. She then went to her assignment, which is in Miss Saran's classroom. Her current companion in Miss Saran's classroom is Sis. Wearne. Miss Saran's classroom has 3rd and 4th grade students who have disabilities. A few of them are in wheelchairs. Allison's assignment is to help Miss Saran and Sis. Wearne with the children in the classroom. She pushes the students in their wheelchairs, helps them with their assignments, and assists them in gettting them ready for lunch.

Sis. Wold is set apart as a service missionary
Sunday, September 23, 2018
Today was such a special day! Allison was set apart by her stake president, President Welch, as a church service missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. What a special day that our family could express our love for her and the impact her actions and decisions have made on our lives for good, so far. Katie and Ryan expressed how they were excited for her to be a missionary and that she'll be a good missionary. Nathan shared how her example of being obedient has influenced him for good. He shared of a time when Allison was invited to a birthday party on Sunday for one of her friends and she chose not to go because it was on Sunday. Mom shared how Allison has always struggled with her schoolwork but never with spiritual things. She always wants to do what is right. Dad shared how blessed he feels that Allison has this opportunity to serve. He shared how he felt that her service mission will be such a blessing in her life and that she has much to share with others. Allison then shared that she wanted to be a missionary because she knew it was the right thing to do and she wants to serve the Lord.
Pres. Welch then set Allison apart as a service missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In her setting apart he spoke of how Heavenly Father will be close to her while she is on her mission. He blessed her with good physical health and with the ability to improve and learn new things. He told her that much growth will happen in her life as she serves the Lord. As she serves not only will she be blessed, but also our family will be blessed as well and she will bring the Spirit into our home.
Her setting apart was truly a special experience. She is so grateful for the opportunity to start her service as a missionary and to serve the Lord. Even though she has a disability, she still has the capacity to love, serve, and teach others about the pure love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be such a blessing to those around her.

Allison receives her Mission Call!!!
Monday, September 19, 2018
Allison has been checking the mailbox for her mission call and she was so excited when she opened the mailbox and it was there!
So, of course we had to call all our family and friends to come watch her open her mission call!!!
It was such a special night and she even said right before she opened it that she'd probably get emotional!
